There are so many beautiful flower embellishments. Just do a Google search for free crochet patterns. I think butterflies (3 patterns here) would also be a nice addition to a chemo cap as well as crochet angels and the cancer support ribbons.
I'm also a cat lover, and these 3 kitties would look really neat on a cap. Here's the pattern.
